SQUASH TIP - NOVEMBER 2009

WARM UP

It is so important to get off to a good start in your matches. Use the warm-up as an opportunity to find your timing and practice some of your shots. Start by hitting some good length from the back of the court. Then move up to the T line and practice taking your opponents shots on the volley so you get used to their pace.

You should also test your opponent by hitting some higher balls to see if they attempt to volley or let the drop into the back corner. See how well they react to your pace or if you hit balls closer to their body.

Finish off by hitting a few attacking shots to the front of the court, nothing fancy just simple drops and volley drops will do as you don’t want to give away any of your tricks before the game begins!
